Fernandina Police Officers were recognized for their commitment to DUI enforcement by Mother's Against Drunk Driving (MADD)

MADD Recognition BanquetFernandina Beach, FL – Fernandina Beach Police Officers Joshua Simmons and Jason Smith were recognized by the Jacksonville area Mother’s Against Drunk Driving at a banquet on Friday night at the Ramada Inn in Mandarin.

Two Fernandina Beach Police Officers were recognized for their commitment to DUI enforcement by the local chapter of Mother’s Against Drunk Driving (MADD) at a dinner honoring the top DUI enforcers in northeast Florida. Officer Jason Smith was honored for the fourth year in a row, while Officer Joshua Simmons was recognized for his work during the past year.

The event was hosted by Bob Jacob, Director of the Institute of Police Technology and Management (IPTM), located at the University of North Florida, and was highlighted by an emotional keynote address by Candace Lightner, founder of MADD.
