Lots of new stuff at the Farmers and Arts Markets.
There is always something new at the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market, and December 7, 2019, is no exception to that. With all the new stuff – and the Fernandina Beach Arts Market will be open, too – this will be a great place to visit old friends, meet new ones, and get a big chunk of your Christmas list marked off.
In the farmers market, we are excited to announce The Garlic Man, of Carter Family Homestead, is introducing his home grown blue oyster mushrooms on Saturday. Eat them raw, saute them or pair them with chicken or seafood; this is the first time the Market Place has offered a mushroom vendor. Topsy Toffee will have a new product this week, chocolate truffles. These dainty dessert bites are made from almond butter and puff pastry flakes coated in a 70% dark chocolate with only a dash of sea salt. We have new products, and we are introducing a new vendor, too. Join us in showing a warm, Fernandina Beach welcome to Sunrise Doughnuts. They will have delicious doughnuts to tame any craving such as blueberry, cinnamon, chocolate with peanut butter and more!
Sponsoring over 40 tents of fresh produce and other edible delights in the farmers market this week is One Plant. They are a medical marijuana dispensary location in Jacksonville. They sell 3 Boys Farms top quality flower on their dispensary menu. 3 Boys Farm is Florida’s first all-organically grown medical cannabis. 3 Boys organic growing operation has been awarded the Governor’s Environmental Leadership Award and is the first nutrient-film technique hydroponic operation in the United States to be USDA-certified organic. One Plant flower products are available for patients near Jacksonville that have received a Florida medical marijuana card.
The Fernandina Beach Arts Market is open, too. This is where you will find nearly 30 vendors with arts, crafts, books, apparel, woodworking, jewelry, and more. Featured this week is artist, Access 30. They make custom doormats, with some of the cutest sayings, to welcome your guests. Get some of your Christmas shopping done while you are shopping local and purchasing directly from the creative mind behind the product.
Music will be provided by Steve Hinnant, and FSCJ will be on hand to tell you about their spring semester classes and how to enroll in any of their multiple college campuses. This will also be your opportunity to meet the new Building Inspector in Fernandina Beach. The City will have a booth on site to answer your questions.
We hope to see you, rain or shine, on North Seventh Street in historic Fernandina Beach. Both markets are open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
