Marriott Hotels Come to Amelia

Courtyard by Marriott and SpringHill Suites

SpringHill Suites and Courtyard Marriott going up at Main Beach

This piece was going to be much longer as Lawrence and I had full intentions of attending the grand opening. However, with an upper respiratory virus that has been spread all over Amelia Island, we decided passing off this cough to someone else was not what anyone who did attend the event wanted to contract… so we stayed home with a dose of DayQuil.

Press release: Operating under one roof, Courtyard by Marriott and SpringHill Suites by Marriott, will add 239 rooms and bring more visitors to the Main Beach area of Fernandina Beach, where businesses like The Sandbar & Kitchen and the newly opened Salt Life Food Shack will benefit. Both Courtyard by Marriott and SpringHill Suites by Marriott will share one roof. The four-story, 37,000-square-foot building, will feature state-of-the-art facilities for meetings and conferences.

The hotels are part of their “Classic Select” collection. Not as nice as the W or the Ritz, and a touch more traditional than their Moxy and Aloft line of hotels.
