Speaker Graeme Nichol will discuss the “Power of Email Marketing” at the May meeting of the Island Council. This business council meets at 8:30 a.m. the first Wednesday of every month to network and discuss business issues. Admission is free; optional pancake breakfast is available for $8.
Yulee Area Council

Ribbon Cutting
Friday, May 11, 10 a.m. at Fernandina Beach Middle School, 315 Citrona Drive in Fernandina Beach.
Join AIFBY Chamber Directors and Ambassadors at a ribbon cutting for the renovated Fernandina Beach Middle School auditorium, hosted by Nassau County School District Superintendent Dr. John L. Ruis.
The Nassau County School District finished extensive renovation and remodeling of the Fernandina Beach Middle School auditorium in January. Complete with new, theatrical-style seating, state-of-the-art lighting for the stage area and house lighting, and a new control booth for sound and lighting, the auditorium has been transformed into an exciting new venue for school productions. Monday, May 14, 5:30 p.m. welcomes Dawn M. Grant Mental Training, 1557 S. Eighth St., Fernandina Beach. Join AIFBY Chamber Directors and Ambassadors as we celebrate her new office with a ribbon cutting.
Mental trainer and hypnotherapist Dawn Grant offers private and group sessions for weight control, smoking cessation, stress reduction and sports improvement. Grant has been offering services on Amelia Island since 2001, has clients globally and has been privileged to work with PGA professionals, world-champion shooters and Olympic athletes. May’s Business After Hours will move to Monday to help kick off the Chamber’s celebration of Small Business Week. We’ll also be celebrating the graduation of Class 12 of Leadership Nassau.
The Amelia Island Club, a unique private club located within the Amelia Island Plantation, is the sponsor. Come enjoy great food, drinks, door prizes and, of course, networking. Bring plenty of business cards! Admission is $5 for Chamber members; $25 for non-members.

The AIFBY Chamber and the Amelia Island Convention & Visitors Bureau present this action-packed 1/2 day workshop with proven strategies and techniques to help your business go to the next level of service excellence and create lifetime loyal customers.
Presenter will be customer service expert Bill Drury. From 1985 until 1990, Drury was the national training consultant for the Zig Ziglar Corporation. He speaks, trains and travels extensively and has proven to be one of the most effective and entertaining speakers in the industry.

Health Care Council
Tuesday May 29, 8 a.m. at Advanced Muscle Therapy & Fitness, 961687 Gateway Blvd. Suite 101H, Amelia Island.
Beverly Pascoe with Rogers Towers will give an overview of HIPPA laws and their enforcement at the May meeting of the Health Care Council hosted by Advanced Muscle Therapy & Fitness. Admission is free.
