Judie and Ally Mackie are a mother and daughter duo that were licensed to teach Zumba Fitness in August 2011. They achieved their “Gold” license in 2013, and Judie recently completed the new “Core” discipline.
Judie and her husband, Lawrence, moved to Amelia Island in 1990. She stays pretty busy teaching Zumba, managing the Fernandina Beach Market Place, and Judie is also a founding partner, writer and editor on SearchAmelia.com.
Ally has lived in Fernandina Beach her entire life, and was born to Pirates! She actually slept on a bunk on the “Little David” shrimp boat during the Blessing of the Fleet, at the Isle of Eight Flags Shrimp Festival, when she was just two weeks old.
Ally is the Mackie’s third child to graduate FernandinaBeach High School. She will graduate with the Class of 2013 as a Certified Nursing Assistant. Ally is a Master at time management. She spends many hours volunteering, has held down steady employment outside of the home since she was 15, and became the youngest licensed Zumba Fitness Instructor in NE Florida, all of this while remaining on the National Honors Society. Having been accepted to all of the colleges she applied to, she is now left to decide where to attend the first four years of college. Furthering her interest in the medical field, Ally plans to become a trauma surgeon and knows this career begins with many more years of higher education.
This dynamic duo teach Zumba Fitness classes at CLUB 14 FITNESS, they can be found volunteering around town, as online personalities at SearchAmelia.com, and they both work at the farmers market on N. 7th Street.
