Using the Motor City Madman Ted Nugent theme song Cat Scratch Fever, the Nassau County Humane Society is organizing a local Rock Fest with the help of¬†musicians from the Jacksonville Musician’s League.

The event takes place on Saturday November 21st from 7PM-10PM at the Atlantic Recreation Center in Fernandina Beach. The Benefit rock concert for the Nassau Humane Society is hosted by The Musicians League and tickets are only $10.  Pizza and soft drinks are available for purchase.

Oh I know, rock concerts usually involve some booze, but you know what… the music will get you there too.

Tickets are on sale now at Redbones Dog Bakery on 8th Street and the Nassau Humane Society Dog Park on Airport Road. If you prefer the internet life, you can purchase your tickets online.

Of course tickets will also be available at the door, but truth be known… full is full and SearchAmelia is going to film the entire event on HD so you don’t want to miss this. The concerts will be given by ranking local musicians who will play 6 sets of 3 songs each interluded by a solo performance between each set.

To give you an idea of what to expect, here is a random list of songs that will be performed:
Rage – In the Name
Blue Oyster Cult – Don’t Fear the Reaper
Simple Man ‚Äì Lynard Skynard (Note: this is how the information got to us, so either it is a performer who goes by the name Simple Man and performs a song called Lynard Skynard…or it is a typo.)
Scandal – Goodbye to You
Seven Mary Three – Cumbersome
Pat Benatar – Hit me with Your Best Shot
Metallica – Bell Tolls
Danzig – Mother
Aerosmith – Walk this Way
Van Halen – Runnin’ with the Devil
4 Non Blondes – What’s Up
Heart – Barracuda
Kiss – Rock and Roll All Nite
Ted Nugent – Cat Scratch Fever!

Not only are we talking here about a very worthy cause, the Nassau Humane Society, we’re also talking about a ton of fun. Personally I think every restaurant and bar owner in the area should come to select performing talent for next season.
