Island Council

The Mustard Seed Cafe, 833 TJ Courson Road, Fernandina Beach
Grow your business by making and strengthening your connections with Amelia Island-based businesses at the Island Council, which meets at 8:30 a.m. the first Wednesday of the month.
Topic in November is “Holiday Marketing.” The Mustard Seed Cafe is located inside Nassau Health Foods.
Admission is free for AIFBY Chamber members; $25 for non-members. Optional breakfast is available. Online registration is required at www.islandchamber.com.
Ribbon Cutting
11 a.m., Friday, November 7
Nassau Humane Society, 639 Airport Road, Fernandina Beach, FL 32034
Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and Directors will celebrate the grand opening of the Nassau Humane Society’s new Animal Rescue Center with a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m.
The ribbon cutting will be followed by tours from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and again from 4-6 p.m. Additional tours will be offered at the same times on November 12, 14 and 15.
The new shelter provides additional space for animal rescue and indoor protection from the weather. Capacity for dogs has increased 150%, from 25 kennels to 64. The new cattery has additional space for the 40-50 cats, as well as private areas for less social cats or kittens. Dedicated space for adoption counseling helps increase adoption rates. Lab space allows the Nassau Humane Society to care for animals in a less stressful environment. AIFBY Chamber Membership Appreciation Night
5 p.m. Monday, November 10
Victory Casino Cruises, 4378 Ocean St., Jacksonville
Victory Casino Cruises will host an Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce Membership Appreciation celebration aboard the Victory II dockside in historic Mayport Village!
Victory will provide transportation for Chamber members and their guests from the Gateway to Amelia center to Mayport where Victory will host this mixer dockside from 5-6:45 p.m. aboard the Victory II. This great event includes food, two drink tickets and live entertainment.
Admission is free to Chamber member employees and one guest.
Victory Casino Cruises also invites all attendees to sail with them that evening with free boarding, a $10 food voucher and $20 in free qualified slot play. The cruise will sail from 7 p.m. to midnight.
The bus to the event will depart from the Gateway to Amelia at 4 p.m. Free parking is available at Victory Casino Cruises in Mayport for those who prefer to drive themselves.
Victory will provide free transportation back to the Chamber following the reception and the cruise at 7 p.m. and midnight, respectively.
Online registration is required at www.islandchamber.com. Each Chamber member employee must register individually to let us know if you want to ride the courtesy bus and if you plan to attend the mixer only or the mixer and cruise.

The Yulee Area Council meets at 8:30 a.m. the second Tuesday of each month to network and discuss issues of interest to the Yulee business community.
This month’s meeting is hosted by Eye Envy Optical and Sunglasses, located in the Villages of Amelia shopping center.

Ribbon Cutting

Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and Directors will celebrate the opening of the new Pate Sucree Restaurant with a ribbon cutting!
This popular catering business is now open as a restaurant offering good food made with fresh ingredients along with beer and wine, all at reasonable prices Soups, salads and sandwiches with daily specials for lunch and dinner. Pate Sucree Restaurant will continue to sell favorite offerings from its Farmers Market booth such as meatloaf and Italian meatballs, all cooked, vacuum-sealed and frozen for your convenience. Just drop the bag in boiling water and you’ve got dinner! And of course, customized menus are available for all your catering needs.

Public Officials Reception
5-7 p.m., Monday, November 24
Omni Amelia Island Plantation, 39 Beach Lagoon, Amelia Island
The Chamber’s annual Public Officials Reception is an intimate gathering that kicks off the holiday season by bringing together local, state and federal officials with Nassau County business and community leaders to network in a relaxed social atmosphere while enjoying fine wine and heavy hors d’oeuvres.
The event is sponsored by Florida Public Utilities and RockTenn with additional support from Baptist Medical Center Nassau.
The Public Officials Reception is being hosted by the Amelia Island Plantation Community Association at Walker’s Landing. Catering is by Pate Sucree Catering Inc./My Personal Chef.
Admission is $75 per person for AIFBY Chamber members through November 7, $85 afterwards. Admission is $250 per person for non-members.
All reservations must be made online by November 20. No payments or walk-ins accepted at the door. Cancellations must be received by Friday, November 21, or all charges will apply.
