YBiz, Young Business Leaders of Nassau presents “Nassau 101.” Get the lowdown on where to go and who to see in Nassau County. Admission is free and optional lunch may be purchased from Sliders. RSVP to info@aifby.com.

Small Business Development Center office hours

AIFBY Chamber of Commerce, 961687 Gateway Blvd., Suite 101G, Amelia Island

Cathy Hagan, certified business analyst and area director at the Small Business Development Center at the University of North Florida, is available every month at the AIFBY Chamber to provide one-on-one assistance to small business owners.

Business owners have the opportunity during these hour-long sessions to discuss any issues they’re facing, including business plans, marketing strategies and loan applications.

Ribbon Cutting

Join the AIFBY Chamber as we celebrate Springer Controls’ new facility with a ribbon cutting.

The building will be open from 4 to 6 p.m. for tours and a reception; the ribbon cutting will take place at 5 p.m. Guests are invited to tour the new facility which will provide space for New Vision Congregational Church-UCC, the Island Chamber Singers, the Songspinners and Fantastic Gymnastics.

Fernandina Beach Boys & Girls Club, 1175 Lime St., Fernandina Beach

The Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce will celebrate the opening of the Boys & Girls Club’s new Roberts Learning and Achievement Center in Fernandina Beach with a ribbon cutting.

There will be an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. with light refreshments from the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island. Program will begin at 2 p.m. The presentation of the colors and ribbon cutting will take place at 3 p.m.

This bridal and special event showroom will have an open house with light refreshments and a fashion show from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The ribbon cutting will be at 5 p.m. Join us in wishing fashion designer/consultant Patricia Morrow-Hufenbecher success.

Network with up to 150 Chamber members at Business After Hours, Nassau County’s biggest networking event, sponsored in October by Quality Health of Fernandina Beach and Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.

Business After Hours is a great way to meet other local business people and make contacts that will help grow your business. There is always great food, drinks, door prizes and, of course, networking!

Admission to Business After Hours is $5 for Chamber members, $25 for prospective members.

Health Care Council
Tuesday, October 30, 8 a.m.
Savannah Grand of Amelia Island, 1900 Amelia Trace Court, Fernandina Beach

The Chamber’s Health Care Council focuses on raising awareness of health care services in Nassau County as well as developing professional contacts among local health-related organizations.

October’s meeting will be hosted by Savannah Grand and Angel Watch Home Care. The speaker will be Ann M. Bittinger who specializes in the legal aspects of business transactions in the health care industry. Bittinger will discuss Medicare audits.

The Health Care Council meets at 8 a.m. the last Tuesday of the month at a participating Chamber member.

Council meetings are free for Chamber members; prospective members are invited to attend one meeting at a cost of $25 (fee will be applied to your membership application fee if you join the Chamber).

Government Affairs Committee

The Government Affairs Committee works to increase awareness of regulatory and legislative issues affecting AIFBY Chamber members by encouraging input and participation in local/state committees and boards.
