Omni Amelia Island hires new associates to add to success of luxury hotel brand portfolio.
As Director of Sales and Marketing, Larry Kaufman will be responsible for overseeing the sales for group business as well as the marketing efforts for Omni Amelia Island Plantation. Kaufman brings over 25 years of marketing and sales experience to the Omni Amelia Island Plantation from his time with Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, and Noble House Hotels & Resorts. Most recently he served as the Vice President of Sales for the San Diego North Convention & Visitors Bureau. Kaufman is a graduate of the University of Denver School of Hotel & Restaurant Management and holds a degree in Business Administration.
Hartwell Baker brings more than 18 years of experience in golf operations, with 10 years spent as the Head Professional and General Manager of Marion Lake Club and Statesville Country Club. He most recently served as the Teaching Professional and Head Instructor for the PGA Tour Academy at the Shipyard Golf Club in Hilton Head, South Carolina and the Omni Interlocken Golf Club in Broomfield, Colorado. In his new role as Director of Golf for the Omni Amelia Island Plantation, Baker will oversee the golf operations on the Oak Marsh and Ocean Links golf courses. Hartwell has been a member of the PGA since 1996 and is a graduate of Ferris State University.
Executive Chef Jerry Helminski comes to the Omni Amelia Island Plantation from Wyndham Hotels & Resorts in Galveston, TX. Helminski is an award-winning executive chef with over 20 years experience in food preparation and kitchen, banquet and a la carte operation for leading hotels, resorts and restaurants, such as The Lexington at Orlando CityPlace, the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate and the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center.
The new Director of Rooms, Robert Brand, is joining the team after serving in the same position at the Omni Interlocken Resort in Denver. He has also served as Director of Rooms for DoubleTree, Hilton Hotels and Westin Hotels. Brand will be responsible for overseeing the lodging and front office operations including housekeeping and the Villas of Amelia rental program. Brand is a graduate of Missouri State University.

The additional new leaders joining the Omni Amelia Island Plantation include Dave Disalvo, Director of Sales, who is joining from the Omni Jacksonville Hotel where he served as Director of Sales & Marketing. Disalvo’s additional experience includes serving as Director of Sales & Marketing for Hyatt Regency in Tampa and Hyatt Sarasota Hotel.
Andrew Lott, Associate Director of Sales, is a nine year veteran of the hospitality industry joining the Omni Amelia Island Plantation from the Ritz Carlton Amelia Island where he has served as Group Sales Manager for the last five years.
Jayna Fox, Director of Housekeeping, is a 12 year veteran of the hospitality industry and comes to the Omni Amelia Island Plantation from the Omni Mandalay Hotel in the Dallas area where she was the Director of Services.
Toby Ramirez-Johnson is the new Assistant Director of Human Resources. Johnson comes from the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate where she served as the Human Resources Manager. Johnson is a Certified Human Resource Executive from the American Hotel & Lodging Association.
Chris Carman, Assistant Front Office Manager is joining the Omni Amelia Island Plantation from the Omni Jacksonville Hotel, and Luis Rodriquez is joining from the Omni Royal Orleans as the Assistant Director of Housekeeping.
