FSCJ Foundation and scholarship recipients honor PLAYERS Championship Red Coats for more than $44,000 in scholarships for 2013.
Jacksonville, FL – FSCJ Foundation and scholarship recipients honor PLAYERS Championship Red Coats for more than $44,000 in scholarships for 2013.
The Florida State College Foundation welcomed THE PLAYERS Championship Red Coats to a HOPE Luncheon to honor their continued support of the College and the endowed scholarship fund they established in 2004. Twelve scholarship recipients had the opportunity to thank the Red Coats at the Nov. 13, 2013 HOPE (Helping Others Pursue Education) Luncheon.
For Fiscal Year 2013, THE PLAYERS Championship Volunteer Scholarship endowment totaled over $1 million, with $44,600 in scholarships awarded to FSCJ students. “I just want to thank all of the Red Coats for what you do in the community and specifically for FSCJ students,” said scholarship recipient Sekia Grimes. “Earning this scholarship meant that I could continue my education and have some of the financial burden lifted.”
“We know that education is the key to the continued growth and success of our community,” said FSCJ alumnus and Red Coat Jim Marlier, who was instrumental in establishing the PLAYERS’ endowed scholarship with the FSCJ Foundation. “We feel that supporting FSCJ students with these scholarships will have an impact well into the future.”
The luncheons are hosted regularly by the Foundation to bring together scholarship donors and the recipients for an opportunity to meet one-on-one.
