I agree that we need to get our financial house in order. We need to create jobs and put our country back to work.
Have you ever owned or known of a dog who just loved to chase cars? Have you ever wondered what they would do if they happen to catch one? This is how I see the take over by the Republicans in this past election. I think they will make a difference in Washington, they will start to bring spending under control, this is all good but there may be a hefty price to pay.
I agree that we need to get our financial house in order. We need to create jobs and put our country back to work. The overwhelming question is how do you accomplish those goals without coming off as the party who just doesn’t care about those caught in the “trap”? I consider the trap as those caught in the unemployment lines and truly can’t find a job. Those who are watching their investments vanish right before their eyes and can’t do anything about it.
I remember back a few months ago when Congress was debating to extend unemployment benefits. Of course the Dem’s were for it and the Rep’s were against it. Now what will happen if in the next round of extensions it is killed, those millions who fall into the “trap” can’t find work and now all of a sudden find themselves with nothing, who are they going to blame, the Republicans?
You see, I think Obama is laughing at the out come of the election. He knows all he has to do is just sit and wait, while the belt tightening and bickering continues and in 2012 simply say, see I told you we were better off before the election of 2010. There will be a lot of voters really hurting by then and I think there will be a different view of the party in power, time will tell.
I truly think it is high time for both parties to put aside their agenda’s and do something together for the people they serve. Folks, this economy is in one hell of a mess and I don’t see it getting any better any time soon. Obama just finished a trip to find American jobs??? I didn’t think he had to go looking for them, if he would have just picked up a phone and called one of many American companies asking for assistance he would have realized he was talking to India, or some other country. Perhaps he did not need to spend $200ml per day to find the answer to that one.
Will the Republicans get the job done and not have a large majority of the American public against them? Are they writing their own death sentence for 2012? Are the voters expecting miracles from the new power in Congress? Will they be disappointed in the long run? Only time will tell the answers to these questions, but it is going to be interesting to watch the outcome.
