Chick-fil-A near Amelia Island, Florida will host 10K and 5K events to raise money for Fernandina Christian Academy.
Amelia Island, FL – On Friday evening, March 20, 2015, hundreds of runners will join the herd and participate in a stampede, the Chick-fil-A® Race Series on Amelia Island. The races begin and end in Wolf Park at 2020 S. Fletcher Ave.
The multiple races and events cater to beginners, avid runners and everyone in between. Features of the race series include a dry-fit shirt for every participant, ChronoTrack Chip Timing, a USATF Certified Course, age group awards and the chance to win various Chick-fil-A® prizes. Proceeds from the race go toward Fernandina Christian Academy, which is dedicated to a balanced and effective combination of Christian values and high academic standards delivered with creativity and love.
Runners earn points for each Chick-fil-A® Connect Race Series they participate in throughout 2015 and compete against runners across the country for prizes. A spirit award is given to the best cow costume. The spirit award will be judged on energy level, originality, and props.
Race-day schedule:
5:30 p.m. – Registration & Packet Pickup Opens
6:00 p.m. ¬ 1 Mile Start
6:20 p.m. – Registration & Packet Pickup Closes
6:25 p.m. – 1 Mile Awards presented after race
6:35 p.m. – 10K Start
6:45 p.m. – 5K Start
8:00 p.m. – 10K/5K Awards
The Family FunZone next to the finish line is a fun, free activity area filled with inflatables and games the whole family will enjoy. The FunZone will be open from 6:00-9:00 p.m. on race day. The Amelia Island race is sponsored by Chick-fil-A®, USA Track & Field and ChronoTrack.
