Island Council
8:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 5
Applebee’s, 2006 S. 8th St., Amelia Island

Grow your business by making and strengthening your connections with Amelia Island businesses at the Island Council. Guest speaker this month is Nicole White of the Nassau County Economic Development Board who will discuss the Nassau Tomorrow initiative. This business council meets at 8:30 a.m. the first Wednesday of every month to network and discuss business issues.

Admission is free for Chamber members. Prospective members are invited to attend one meeting for $25.00 (which will be applied to your membership investment fee when you join the Chamber). Optional pancake breakfast is available for $8.00.

Join YBiz, Young Business Leaders of Nassau County, for its next mixer, a trivia night hosted by O’Kane’s Irish Pub & Eatery. There will be fun team trivia, great networking and food and drink specials all night. YBiz is aimed at young entrepreneurs and professionals who are looking to make connections and contribute to the community.

Small Business Development Center Free One-on-One Counseling
Wednesday, September 12
AIFBY Chamber of Commerce, 961687 Gateway Blvd., Suite 101G, Amelia Island

Cathy Hagan, certified business analyst and area director at the Small Business Development Center at the University of North Florida, is available every month at the AIFBY Chamber to provide one-on-one assistance to small business owners. Business owners have the opportunity during these hour-long appointments to discuss any issues they’re facing, including business plans, marketing strategies and loan applications.

Cathy is at the Chamber the second Wednesday of each month. She also can meet with you at your place of business. Contact the SBDC at (800) 450-4624 or chagan@unf.edu to schedule an appointment.

Jacksonville Speech & Hearing Center at Amelia Urgent Care, 96279 Brady Point Road, Fernandina Beach

Amelia Urgent Care & Occupational Medicine, 96279 Brady Point Road, Fernandina Beach

The Chamber’s Health Care Council focuses on raising awareness of health care services in Nassau County as well as developing professional contacts among local health-related organizations. September’s meeting will be hosted by Amelia Urgent Care and Marilyn Parker of SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders) will be the speaker.

The council meets at 8 a.m. the last Tuesday of the month at a participating Chamber member.

Admission is free for Chamber members. Prospective members are invited to attend one meeting for $25.00 (which will be applied to your membership investment fee when you join the Chamber).

Government Affairs Committee
8:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 26
AIFBY Chamber, 961687 Gateway Blvd., Suite 101G, Amelia Island

The Government Affairs Committee works to increase awareness of regulatory and legislative issues affecting AIFBY Chamber members by encouraging input and participation in local/state committees and boards.

The GAC meets the last Wednesday of the month to discuss issues and to recommend formal policy stances for adoption by the Chamber’s Board of Directors. For more information, contact Chamber President Regina Duncan at (904) 261-3248.
