This holiday season please consider donating to the Fernandina Beach Police Department Shop with Cops program.
The Fernandina Beach Police Department began its very successful Shop with Cops program in 2004 and now serves more than 150 local school children each year, providing the opportunity to shop with a uniformed police officer at the Amelia Island Walmart store in December. The Shop with Cops program is designed so that many of our underprivileged kids experience the joy of Christmas, while also building good positive relationships with local police officers.
The program relies solely on donations from local individuals and businesses. Donations are collected all year long and every penny donated translates directly to much coveted toys and games, as well as much needed clothing items.
The program participants are selected by local school guidance counselors, who make sure that only the truly needy are given the opportunity to take part in this unique program.
