Stuff a 3 Dollar First Federal Cookbook in Their Stocking

The $3 cookbook includes this great recipe for feeding several mouths breakfast or brunch at the holidays or anytime.

Stuff a 3 Dollar First Federal Cookbook in Their StockingWhile most of us are making an effort to shop local this holiday season, First Federal Bank of Florida is helping to make this easier on you with their 11th Annual Cookbook.

For only $3.00 you can purchase a local cookbook that makes a perfect stocking stuffer and help local charities at the same time! The books are available at both the Fernandina Beach and the Yulee bank branches.

With visiting family and holiday guests that need to be fed, I found the following recipe, donated by Karen Warner, to be an easy way to feed several mouths at breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients:
12 Slices bread, toasted and buttered
2 Pounds fresh, crispy bacon
2 Cups (8 oz.) shredded cheddar cheese
8 Eggs
1 Quart milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Corn flakes

Directions:
Cut toast into cubes.
Layer toast cubes, bacon and cheese (1/2 at a time) in a 9 X 13 inch baking dish
Beat eggs in a large bowl.
Add milk, salt and pepper to eggs and beat until smooth.
Pour mixture over the layers and refridgerate overnight.
Sprinkle with corn flakes and bake at 375 degrees F for 45 minutes to an hour, or until set and brown.
