The Blue Door Artists will feature the paintings of Suzanne Batchelor for the month of July.

Her latest series is a collection of her representational art including her classical still life paintings and figurative work. While Suzanne enjoys painting dogs and people; her recent body work is a result of her studies in traditional art techniques.

Her paintings will debut for the Artrageous Second Saturday Art Walk on July 14th, 2012 from 5:30 to 8:00 PM. More contemporary dog paintings and portraiture by Suzanne are also on display along with work by the eight other Blue Door Artists during the Art Walk and every day except Sundays.

Suzanne lives in Fernandina Beach with her British born husband John and dog Seamus, where she paints full time. She was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, but Amelia Island has been her home since 2000.

While Suzanne has a Bachelor of Business Management and had a corporate career traveling internationally, in recent years she’s participated in various art workshops and classes and developed a self-study process that has enhanced her current body of work. Oil is Suzanne’s favorite medium, but she continues to study and explore both traditional and contemporary art forms and enjoys learning new ways to paint and express her creativity.

The Blue Door gallery and studios are located at 205 1/2 Centre Street in historic downtown Fernandina Beach. (Look for the blue doors between Seattle’s Best Coffee and Go Fish leading to the colorful staircase.)
