Germany crush Argentina (4-0) while Spain are the lucky ones to advance over the Paraguay team (1-0) to the semi finals World Cup Soccer in South Africa. The Dutch will meet Uruguay in Durban while the Germans will battle the Spaniards in Cape Town to reach the Finals in Johannesburg on July 11.
In a nervous beginning the Dutch conceded an unnecessary goal but they fought back against a progressively negative Brazil with two goals from Wesley Snijder (officially only one goal). The gasps can still be heard when Ghana’s Gyan missed the penalty in the 122 min. overtime that would have send his country into soccer history. It was not to be and Uruguay eliminated the Black Stars to meet Holland in the Semi finals.
The Netherlands will take on Brazil in the quarter finals after Slovakia and Chile respectively were ousted from the World Cup Soccer tournament in South Africa.
Germany and Argentina move on to the Quarter Finals in Wold Cup Soccer South Africa 2010 leaving England and Mexico empty handed. And what a day it was.

US and England Advance and rivals Germany will meet the British while Denmark and Japan will fight over the last spot in Group E and Italy, New Zealand, Slovakia and Paraguay all still need to determine who is advancing and in what position in Group F.
Uruguay beat Mexico 1-0 but both go on to the last 16, while the other game in Group A between host South Africa and France saw South Africa win routing out the French 2-1 being one of the Champion contenders. However the South African win was not enough the warrant a place in the last 16. The “Bafana” can keep their heads high although it is the first time in history that the host country is not advancing to the next round.
After yesterday’s Portugal trashing North Korea with a 7-0 win, Spain’s 2-0 win over Honduras and Chile’s 1-0 win over Switzerland, the final stages of the Group matches in A & B are beginning today. Enough uncertainty in both groups should make the battle grounds interesting today.
The Italians created chance after chance but goal keeper Paston (NZ) seemed unbeatable today. A beacon of calmness in the defense, he kept his net clean with the exception of a penalty that would have all but eliminated the Azzurri if Vincenzo Iaquinta hadn’t converted the questionable chance from the penalty spot.

Day 8 was one to forget for two of the Europe’s powerhouses as Germany lost and England drew while slow-starting USA staged a memorable fightback.
Argentina marches on to last 16, South Korea retains continuation of their World Cup dream, Greece reloaded their chances by virtually eliminating Nigeria while the Mexico’s “subs” El Tri put the French World Cup dreams in ghost town.
World Cup Game Day 6 marked some extreme surprises, glorious victories and defeats and will enter the chronicles that “Goliath” Spain, as a possible World Cup contender, got defeated by Wilhelm Tell “David”.
World Cup Soccer Game Day 5 – Brazil had some scary moments. New Zealand got their first point in the Worldcup, Ivory Coast and Portugal split the points and Brazil was made to work hard for their win against North Korea.
