1,200 lbs of Sugar and 3,000 Eggs make a Gingerbread Pirate Ship

The Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island is gearing up for another rich tradition memory filled Holiday Season.
Days of wonder and nights to remember are waiting at The Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, which invites guests and locals to come and enjoy coastal holiday traditions including the Gingerbread Pirate Ship that annually dominates the luxury resort’s beautiful lobby. The size and perfection of this “edible” piece of holiday art is the perfect backdrop for your Christmas keepsake photo. And once again there will be magic in the air with Santa tuck-ins, story book teas, beach bonfires and holiday wagon rides down dune-lined paths.

• The S.S. Amelia Gingerbread Pirate Ship Arrives
The S.S. Amelia Gingerbread Pirate Ship docks in the lobby for the holiday season. Live televised event with children’s chorus. Made from 1,200 pounds of sugar and 3,000 eggs, the S.S. Amelia serves as a festive backdrop for countless holiday memories. All are invited to welcome this Amelia Island holiday icon.

at 5:30 pm our 40 foot Christmas Tree will be lighted in the courtyard which will officially mark the beginning of The Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island holiday season and at the same time over 200,000 lights will glitter throughout the resort grounds. This festive evening includes a fundraiser for the YMCA, entertainment, holiday cookies and hot apple cider, Santa’s arrival and a spectacular fireworks display.  The entire event is Complimentary and open to the public.

• Santa’s Festive Holiday Dinner will begin at 6:30 pm in the Talbot Ballroom, immediately following the Tree Lighting Ceremony. Santa and Mrs. Claus with elves and reindeer will be present to share this Buffet style dinner with all of the children’s favorites, local seafood, braised beef short ribs, a delectable dessert and candy station. Admission includes a photo souvenir with Santa in a festive, magical ambiance. $49 per adult, $25 per child, ages 5 – 12, price is inclusive of gratuity. Reservations are required.

On Thanks Giving Day, Thursday November 24 choices are

The Family Thanksgiving Grand Feast from 12 pm – 4 pm in The Ritz-Carlton Ballroom
Celebrate and give thanks with a traditional meal with all of the trimmings. The feast features live music, family entertainment plus a lavish buffet that includes shellfish, smoked salmon, sushi bar, steak and eggs station, local fish and carving station.
$99 per adult, $45 per child, ages 5 – 12, price is inclusive of gratuity.

A delicious Thanksgiving buffet in Café 4750 between 3 pm – 9 pm
with all of your favorites plus shrimp, smoked salmon, sushi, steak, seared local fish, carving station and desserts.

Thanksgiving in Salt between 4 pm – 9 pm where Chef Rick Laughlin presents a four-course Thanksgiving menu with a contemporary and elegant twist, including citrus scallop carpaccio, butternut squash soup, organic turkey breast and chocolate soufflé.

Santa’s Storybook Tea
Saturdays, November 26, December 3, 10 and 17 – 12 pm, Seaside Room
A Ritz-Carlton treasured tradition with a fireside holiday storybook read by Santa plus an afternoon tea, with a selection of finger sandwiches, pastries, candy and cake.
$45 per person, ages 5 and up, price inclusive of gratuity.

Create a Gingerbread House

Saturday, November 26 –  3 pm, Salon 1
Children will be thrilled working with our pastry chefs to create their own gingerbread masterpiece. Young chefs will receive a chef’s hat, apron and diploma.

New Year’s Eve Black & White Masquerade Ball

An evening of glamour and style reminiscent of Truman Capote’s infamous Black and White Ball of 1966.  Lavish food, live music, dancing, open bar and fireworks.  Black & White attire is encouraged. Masks will be provided and guests are welcome to bring their own. Make this New Year’s Eve a Night to Remember!  Must be 21 or older and provide valid ID at registration.

NEW YEAR’S DAY

New Year’s Day Brunch
