Too Early for Spring Fever?

Too Early for Spring Fever?

The farmers market is located in Fernandina Beach, on North 7th Street, between Centre and Alachua.

Spring fever is creeping up my spine due to the mild winter we have had so far this year, but I’m thrilled to know I can scratch that itch at the Fernandina Beach Market Place farmers market that will be open on February 16, 2019. There will be plants, shrubs, blooming baskets, patio plants, trees, succulents, container gardens, herbs and palms. All of these will satisfy your urge to shape up the old homestead as we get ready for spring.

Seven Trees Nursery specialized in succulents. They have cactus gardens, beer bottle plants, pitcher plants, stag-horn ferns, pony tail palms, colorful hanging baskets, and patio plants. Jaxma Orchid Greenhouses are located on Highway 17 just north of Bostwick, Florida. They bring a variety of colorful orchid and pots most Saturdays and can answer your toughest questions about orchid care. Robert, with Ever Blooming Nursery, is a walking encyclopedia of plant knowledge. He brings easy to care for azaleas shrubs, hibiscus plants, and mimosa trees. You’ll find flowering vines, highly scented trees like the tea olive, and even roses. Many of his plants will grow in sun, or half and half making them perfect for our island yards with those gorgeous old oak trees.

Have a craving for ice cream? EPIC Ice Cream is back in the Market Place with their pints, ice cream sandwiches, macaroons, and decorated cookies. Tea Nation and Steephill Syrup will be back this week, too. Remember, Steephill will give you a discount if you return the containers.

The Nassau Humane Society will have adoptable dogs to pet, and there will be live music. Don’t forget, we also have fresh baked breads and pastries, honey, dog treats, beef, pork, seafood, wild caught shrimp, a gluten-free booth, seasonal produce, pecans, dips, prepared meals, tea, syrup and so much more!

The farmers market is located in historic Fernandina Beach, on North Seventh Street, between Centre and Alachua Streets. We are open from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., rain or shine. For more information visit: FernandinaBeachMarketPlace.com.
