Verandah Restaurant Improves Dining Experience

Amelia Island, FL – The Verandah Restaurant, located at Amelia Island Plantation, has a variety of new enhancements in place to improve the dining experience. “Tantalizing Tuesdays” offers patrons $4 wines by the glass and $4 appetizers at the bar from 5:30 to– 7:00 p.m. on Tuesdays. Also new, is the introduction of half portion meals, designed for smaller appetites or to allow the guests the option to enjoy additional courses without the guilt. Now available through Amelia Island Plantation’s website, diners may make reservations online.

In preparation for the spring growing season, the Verandah staff is working on the restaurant’s garden, currently located between the restaurant and the tennis courts at Racquet Park. Started last August, the garden features tomatoes, basil, lemon grass, chives, parsley, dill and mint which are used to flavor and garnish various menu items and daily chef specials. The garden, in combination with the use of locally caught shrimp and locally grown food, allows the Verandah to offer dishes with a local flare. With plans to enhance and enlarge the garden, the Verandah staff is eager to relocate their plants to a greenhouse in the near future.

Overlooking Racquet Park, the Verandah restaurant offers diners a variety of seafood and land options. From the Tasting Quartet to the Verandah Salad or the favorite Red House Grouper to the Amelia Mud Pie, the Verandah offers a dining experience to remember. Open to public from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
